To obey her parents, Rita, who wished to enter convent life, reluctantly married a violent and rebellious man named Paulo. With her fervor and kindness, Rita managed to calm her husband, and they had two children. One day, Paulo was murdered on the roadside, and their two sons vowed revenge. Unable to dissuade them, Rita fervently prayed to God to take them away before they committed murder. Her prayers were answered, and Rita, now alone in the world, tried to enter convent life but was initially denied.
