Turkish Eye 07cm

", "description": "

The Turkish Eye is a Turkish amulet (sometimes called the Greek eye) that protects against the evil eye, envy, and bad luck. It can be found throughout Turkey, Greece, and various Mediterranean countries.

In Mediterranean countries, it is used as a personal amulet in bracelets, earrings, and necklaces or as a protective amulet by hanging it in homes, offices, or cars.

This Turkish Eye is made of blue glass and weighs approximately 90 grams with a diameter of 7cm and a thickness of 1cm.

This Turkish Eye 07cm is handmade, so each one is unique and the measurements and weights provided are approximate.

MEANING OF THE TURKISH EYE

Its Turkish name for protection against the evil eye and envy is nazar boncuk (Nazar-evil eye, boncuk-amulet). The Turkish Eye 07cm is often referred to as the Eye of Fatima, named after the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, and it is combined with the Fatima Hand amulet to enhance its effects. Although it can take various patterns and be applied in different designs, the Turkish Eye is typically composed of a circle, sphere, or drop shape in dark blue with a white and light blue eye overlay. The Turkish Eye amulet appeared during the development of glassmaking in the Mediterranean around 16 BC. Legend has it that fair-haired blue-eyed men could be malevolent and could send negative vibrations and cause harm with their gaze.

When the Turkish Eye breaks or cracks, it has fulfilled its protective function and must be replaced.
