MEANING OF THE TURKISH EYE

Although it can take various patterns and be applied in different designs, the Turkish Eye is typically composed of a circle, sphere, or drop shape in dark blue with a white and light blue eye overlay. The Turkish Eye amulet appeared during the development of glassmaking in the Mediterranean around 16 BC. Legend has it that fair-haired blue-eyed men could be malevolent and could send negative vibrations and cause harm with their gaze.

When the Turkish Eye breaks or cracks, it has fulfilled its protective function and must be replaced.
