BRIEF HISTORY OF OUR LADY OF KNOT UNTYING The most famous painting of Our Lady of Knot Untying was painted by an unknown artist around the year 1700, and is primarily venerated in Augsburg, Bavaria, at the church of St. Peter Am Perlach. A copy of this painting is also venerated in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where it was brought by Bishop Dom Bergoglio. Mary is depicted as the Immaculate Conception. It is evident that she is situated between heaven and earth. One of the angels hands her a ribbon with larger and smaller knots, separate and together.
