The Agnus Dei is one of the most powerful protective amulets we can carry with us when facing a significant challenge in our lives.

Did you know that Agnus Dei, in Latin, means Lamb of God? In fact, \"Agnus Dei\" is an expression used in Christianity to refer to Jesus Christ.

The Agnus Dei is represented by a lamb beside a cross. This designation originates in the Bible, in the New Testament, in the Gospel of John, where John the Baptist says about Jesus:

\"Behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.

The Agnus Dei is a heart-shaped medal, hung on a chain beside Jesus on the cross and the key to the gates of Heaven. It is used by Catholics as an amulet for divine protection.

The Hebrews had the custom of sacrificing a lamb to God for the remission of sins. Animal sacrifices were common in many parts of the world.

In the Bible, for example, there is the story of Abraham, who, to prove his faith in God, was required to sacrifice his only son by burning him on a pile of wood, as was customary for animal sacrifices—the biblical account, however, states that God did not allow this execution.

The death of Jesus Christ, the only begotten son of God, made these sacrifices unnecessary, as being born of a virgin and conceived without sin, he was the ultimate sacrifice, interpreted as the greatest act of love by God for humanity. Our grandmothers used to carry an Agnus Dei hidden in their bras. It should always be kept hidden, for example inside a small cloth pouch, because it loses its power if someone knows that we are carrying it.
